I am a graduate of the IDE department at the Royal College of Art in London. My graduation project explored ways design can help mitigate poverty and obesity through design and entrepreneurship in Mexico City.

Before moving to the UK I worked at Michel Rojkind’s architectural studio and founded Studiojakai, my own design practice in Mexico City. After graduating from the RCA I became a founding member of the design collective BREAD.

I joined the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design in 2010 as part of the Healthcare & Patient Safety Lab where I have been involved in a wide range of projects including the Redesign of the UK Emergency Ambulance, the Design Council and Department of Health initiative to reduce violence and aggression in Emergency departments, and the design of a doctor’s bag suitable for patient home visits.
